SHUNTDIEM presented during the virtual part of the BIP on Wildlife and Hunting Tourism

On March 26, 2025, students from four European countries took part in the virtual component of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled Wildlife management in human dominated landscape of Central Europe, organized by the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU). BIP is an Erasmus+ initiative that combines short-term online and physical learning experiences across partner institutions, encouraging international collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The virtual session included a lecture titled Wildlife and Hunting Tourism by Markéta Kalábová, coordinator of the SHUNTDIEM project. She introduced students to the concept of sustainable hunting tourism and the project's objectives in promoting responsible wildlife management, education, and international cooperation. The session also included interactive elements, such as a Kahoot quiz on key terms in hunting tourism, and a presentation on the outcomes of the previous HUNTOUR project.

Fourteen students and two professors from universities in Romania, Slovakia, Estonia, and Poland participated in the session. Their engagement brought a variety of perspectives to the discussion and fostered a dynamic exchange on the sustainability challenges and opportunities in hunting tourism.

The on-site part of the BIP is scheduled to follow in early April 2025 in the Czech Republic, with a rich program including field trips, data analysis activities, and practical demonstrations of wildlife management methods.
